The Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition Australia premiered our Virtual Experience at the Fire Australia 23 Conference in Sydney on 3-5 May 2023. The Virtual Experience was well received by conference delegates and tradeshow visitors.

The VR headsets and tablets will be at the HFSCA stand at AFAC23 in Brisbane 22-25 August 2023, and Fire and Rescue Victoria stand at the Melbourne Royal Show in September/October 2023.
What is the Virtual Experience?
The HFSCA 360° Virtual Experience takes the viewer into the middle of two home fires in near identical rooms. One scenario has no home fire sprinkler and goes to flash over in around 2 minutes. Flashover is where the whole room and contents are involved, with temperatures more than 1000°C and there is no chance of survival.
The second room has a home fire sprinkler installed. When the single sprinkler head activates, it stops the fire spread. A room with a fire sprinkler can suppress the fire and smoke and keep the temperature under 100°C, which gives occupants much more opportunity to escape, increasing your chance of survival by 90%.
While these words on the page can give a good description of the difference home fire sprinklers can make, until you see it with your own eyes, it’s hard to actually comprehend.
You can view the 360° video on VR headsets, tablet, smartphone or computer. Keep an eye out for the Home Fire Coalition Australia at fire-related tradeshows and exhibitions, where we will have VR headsets set up and ready to use.
